Before I studied the religion of Islam, I thought allah was a name, but It turns out that they worship God also, because Allah is their word for God.

What relly impressed me is how they fast for a whole month, in Ramadan. I think this would be a very very difficult task for a lot of people because I know it would be hard for me.

Not a lot of things really impressed me, but he thing that somewhat impressed me was the Mosques. I like there idea of not having any pictures because they don't want idols or anything like that. Also how it faces Mecca.
That is the thing that impressed me the most.

The Hajj is the practice of Islam that impressed me the most. This is because the have seven stages they have to do when they arrive at Mecca. An example is to walk around the Ka'bah counter-clockwise seven times. They must be very dedicated to their religion to go to Mecca and follow all of the rituals of the Hajj.

The thing that impressed me the most was that their mosques have no paintings and that there are no pictures of Muhammad. I understand why he didnt want pictures but that just was kind of interesting to me. I would not like to sit on the ground and it puzzles me how the older people can sit on the ground. But thats what they do.

I think that there belief of Salat, the second pillar of Islam. In this pillar, the muslims will go down and face Mecca, praying to God. This shows their total willingness to serve God, and their faith. it is a strong feeling of their love toward God. Their humbleness and servitude impress me.

I think What impressed me the most is that they are very devoted.
They stand by what they believe, and most of them follow the rules very strongly.
That impresses Me!

The tradition that impresesed me most about Islam was how at least onece in their lives they would have to go visit the Ka'bah. This impressed me because I didn't know that it mattered where you are when you pray to God or believe in him. If they don't visit this place because they can't afford it, that's okay and God will forgive them. But if they don't go because they just fon't feel like it, God will be very angry and might send a sign to punish them. This religion had many different and cool traditions, but this is just one of them!

I think it is very impressive that they can not eat all day during Ramadan. I also find it interesting that they have to pray five times a day. Another remarkable thing about Islam is that they do not have any Statues or pictures of people in there Mosques. They also have to pray towards Mecca

The belief of Islam that impressed me the most is the Fifth Pillar: Hajj. I think is important because you get to travel to Mecca the holiest place of the Islam religion. I think it would be interesting to visit the place where my religion first started. I also think it would be interesting because when you are there you have to dress like the people that live there. Performing all of the tasks of the Hajj would be valuable to you. I think this religion is very interesting.

What I liked about this religion was where the islamic people would travel to their place they thought was holy. The place is Mecca and the holyest place in their religion is the Ka'bah. This place is like the cross of Jesus to them. People are told that at least once in there life they must visit these holy places. They don't have to if they can't, or if they aren't heathy. But if they can the should. I thought this was a great experience to go through for your religion.

The thing that impressed me was the way they prayed. because they must always face Mecca and their churches are plain and white. they do not have anything in them. What also impressed me was where they have to sit when in the church men in front and girls in back.

I find the pilgrimage to Mecca shows a great devotion to there faith. When any Muslim is making the pilgrimage to Mecca that they are all equal and no one is more important than the other. I really like that aspect of the pilgrimage.

Another practice that impresses me is that they have to pray facing
Mecca five times a day. I think it is great that they set aside those five parts of the day to spend time in conversation with Allah, or God. I think that when they face Mecca, they are showing that it is a holy place and very important to them. I think that this is an interesting practice and am glad that I learned about it.

I agree with L.E
I also agree that the Hajj is very impressive. You have to be very dedicated to the religion to travel all the way to Mecca. I think that the 7 seven stages are very interesting. L.E made a good point. :)

Ramadan is something that impresses me most. They fast all day from sunset to sundown, and don't even have a drink of water. This expression of their faith is very impressive, and I commend them for it. I also agree with zt.

Another thing that impressed me was going to Mecca, and how so many people go to this place to worship, this reminds me of World Youth Day. I think it would be very cool to visit that place where everyone just comes, and everyone is so nice and kind.

dpm's comment is a good example of how, many people misunderstand Muslims and their practices. Movie and the media often portray every one of Islam's followers a terrorist but these people are known as extremist and are part of a very small amount of Muslims in the world today.

I really thought it was cool how they made a trip to mecca each year. It would be really crazy how many people would be there. All wanting to do the same thing as you. Trying to Pray, i found this very interesting.

I would have to agree with j.g=]. I must take a lot of trust and belief to not see anyone. because I personaly like to see pictures of Jesus.

I think the fifth pillar of Islam is very impressive. It is called Hajj which is the pilgramige to Mecca that each Muslim must make if he/she can afford it. It is a very spiritual experience for anyone that goes. There are many journeys they must take and all of them are interesting.

I agree with LE. Hajj seems like a very special journey to these people and like a big part of there lives.
