A blog for my middle school students to discuss what they are learning in their World Religions class and deepen their understanding of what other people believe.

i think that they are kind of alike but different al the same time. they are alike because they both belive in peace. they also belive in that you should take the middle path and i think thats a good idea. they are different because they dont really have a God like we do. annd they have different belifs.
They are all kind of the same, except for a few. The right concentration isn't in the Beautitudes. But all of them have like the same idea, but just in different words.
The noble Eightfold Path is something that Buddhist's must follow everyday. This is how they become good people. They are all about being kind and caring for others. It's basically all about being a good person and how to live your life.
The noble eight fold path is something that the budhists follow every single day! I think it would be sooo hard for me to do that. I'm not really a person that likes to follow a schedule but they do it and I think its impressive
The Noble Eightfoldpath is right understanding, right awareness, right speech, right action, right work, right effort, right thought, and right concentration. These rules basically tell you to live peacefully and respectfully.
The "Buddhist Eighfold Path" are the laws or rules in thier religion that they must follow to be good people, and that's how they become good people! They are also like the Beatitudes or Ten Commandments just different thoughts and rules, and are put into different words.
I would have to agree with MBK, becuase this is their guidlines, and this is how they reach "nirvana" or "buddha" in their reincarnations. Every time they are reborn they try to get to those states. For us it's kind of like the 10 commandments
I think that they are pretty much alike. They just have slightly different beliefs and ways of expressing their beliefs. Another thing is that they use different words to express it.
The purpose of these pages is to connect members of the community to teachers at Holy Family Catholic School. Working together we can enhance the educational opportunities of our students.

Both talk about peace caring and giving to others. But a key difference would be the meditative and thought parts of the ten fold path.
Mc
I also agree with dmm, with how he said that they don't have a God like we have. I also agree with choosing the middle path is a good idea.
(:

I would have to agree with Mc. It is true that they both believe in caring for and respecting others.
